This is a tribute to the biosphere, including the song thrush, the forests and my amazing Anna.

There are lithospheres on billions of billions of other planets, but there is probably only one with a biosphere like ours. Humanity is spreading and is thereby removing the space and food for a lot of animal and plant species, which will make it harder for everyone’s descendants. Everyone should take a walk in the forest and let their thoughts run wild.

As a biologist, I would like to remind you that there are two kinds of animals; Those that live as symbionts, who help other species, and then those that live as parasites; Most have a body that is adapted to the latter kind (The easiest and more primitive solution). But at least one species has a choice! Which one of the two kinds would you like to belong to? What about your friends or those you can vote for; Which kind would you rather have them be like?
… Food for thought;)

For my sixtieth birthday I got a new guitar and percussion instruments. I had to make a new track with this. It turned out to be a single guitar with two delays, which I then recorded live percussion to. It reminded me of a fantastic songbird, namely the song thrush, which also often repeats its song. When my wife also gave me a tour of the Bistrup and Lerbjerg forests and lunch at a nearby inn, I took a lot of pictures in the forests and recorded birdsong in surround sound. For some time I have wanted to record live percussion with 5 microphones in a surround setup; This is what I did in this track. I put the guitar up front without delay, the first delay in the side channels and then both delays in the back channels and I am very happy with how the different sounds play together. I have made a video with many of the pictures I took from our trips, which turned out to be five in total over the summer.

For the audio nerds, I have also made a video where I play live percussion to the guitar. Here you can see and hear where in the soundscape things are recorded; The surround sound then requires that you can play the MKV video with surround sound;)

The How-to-record-percussion-in-surround-sound video (NOT a MUSIC VIDEO!;) – Se here:

7.1 and 5.1 mixes are dedicatede surround mixes.
The stereo mix is made from binaural stereo re-renders of the Dolby Atmos mixes of the recordings of percussion and birdsong.

Best regards, Jan
